Keto Nutella

INGREDIENTS

  • 326 g (1 1/4 cup)   natural hazelnut butter 
  • 16 g (1 tbsp)  hazelnut oil  – or substitute with MCT/coconut oil/grapeseed oil
  • 95 g (1/2 cup)  Lakanto monkfruit sweeter – ground to confectionery 
  • 23 g (3 tbsp)   dutch processed cocoa powder  
  • 5 g (1 tsp)   pure vanilla extract  
  • 1 g (1/8 tsp) salt

DIRECTIONS

  • 1.   Place the hazelnut butter into a food processor and add the sweetener which has been ground to confectionery, the hazelnut oil, Dutch processed cocoa powder, salt and pure vanilla extract

  • 2.   Process for about 3-5 minutes, until very smooth and creamy. Enjoy!

Place into airtight container. The Keto Nutella will keep in the fridge for several weeks.

If you cannot find the hazelnut butter, an alternative would be to buy dry roasted and blanched (peeled) hazelnuts and make your own nut butter from the hazelnuts. I have found the cost of the hazelnuts to be as much as buying the prepared nut butter and the prepared butter is an easier way to make a treaty, versatile spread for which you can control the sweetness, and where you will know the macronutrient profile.

If you can find the hazelnut butter in a grocery or health food store it may be less expensive – as I have found in my area. However, here are links for your convenience. These are not the only brands; the thing to look for is 100% hazelnuts and no other ingredients:
